The GowandaOnline website was first established in April 1999 in an effort to archive some basic information about the Gowanda area on the Internet. At present, the site has grow to contain, not only a large volume of information related to life in this small town, but also interactive features with which local users of the site can use in their day-to-day lives. These most prominent of these interactive features include: a community calendar and classified advertising. The growth of the site has required me to move it twice to larger servers to allow for the increasing amount of content. Up to this point, all of the costs for server space, advertising and so forth have been borne by myself.

     I have now come to the point that, for the site to realize its fullest possible potential as a community service, I can no longer shoulder all of the costs myself. In order to keep up with a full level of archived PennySaver content as well as start adding original coverage of local events, I have decided to start a sponsorship program for the site. With additional funding, I will be able to cover the costs already demanded to keep GowandaOnline going and hire much needed help to provide expanded levels of content. I believe that this website has the potential to become an online equivalent of the PennySaver News.
