The Harvest Heritage Fall Festival in Gowanda is an annual community event held during September celebrating the end of the summer season with celebration of the rural life style. This event is centered around an annual scarecrow contest. Local businesses, organizations and individual display their creations throughout the business district and beyond. Another local tradition which has become a focal point of the Fall Festival is the Tour of Homes and Gardens. Craft displays and seasonal activities often are offered to round out the Harvest Heritage weekend.
