Couple united in fall nuptials
Sara Sutherland and Scott Stoddard were united in marriage on Sept. 24, 2005 at the Wawbeek resort on Upper Saranac Lake, NY. About 85 guests spent the weekend at the resort, which is near Paul Smith’s College, where the couple first met.
The bride is the daughter of William and Cynthia Sutherland of Gowanda. She is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Robert Sutherland of Westfield, Gilbert and Velma Nagle of Gowanda, and the late Mary Nagle. The groom is the son of Michael and Nora Stoddard of Lockport.
The Hon. Justice Alan S. Sheren officiated at the candlelight ceremony. Three-year-old Max McCullagh announced the arrival of the bride, who was escorted by her father. Rebecca Sutherland, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and Aubrey Shaw, friend of the groom, was the best man. Brent Tuttle, cousin of the bride, played the piano. Readings were given by friends Americ McCullagh and Aimee Parsons, who read her original poem, “Wedding in the Woods.” The Rev. Robert Sutherland gave a blessing.
The newlyweds live in West Chazy, NY. He is an environmental engineer at Wyeth and she teaches fourth grade at Chazy Elementary.
