Engagement announced

     James P. and Cheryl Huels of Dunkirk announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristy Michelle Huels, to James Michael LaValle, son of Donna R. LaValle of Gowanda and the late John J. LaValle.

     The bride-to-be is a Dunkirk High School Class of 1998 graduate and SUNY Fredonia Class of 2002 graduate, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and sociology. She is employed as a loss prevention specialist for a major retail chain.

     LaValle is a 1993 graduate of Gowanda High School and earned a bachelor of arts degree in human services from Hilbert College in 1999. He is employed as a mental health counselor for Lake Shore Behavioral Health, Inc.

     A May 2006 wedding is planned.
