St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Hickory, NC, was the setting Jan. 1, 2005, for the marriage of Matthew John Grimm of Nicholasville, KY and Sarah Elizabeth Garrard of Lexington, KY. The ceremony was performed by the father of the bride and the father of the groom.

     The bride is the daughter of the Rev. William and Frances Garrard of Hickory. The groom is the son of the Rev. Nelson and Julie Grimm of Byron and the grandson of Ivan and Janet Pecnik of Gowanda.

     Both Asbury College graduates, the bride is pursuing her education as a physician’s assistant at the University of Kentucky. The groom, a Gowanda Central School graduate, is a camera man for Kentucky Educational Television, Inc.

     After a honeymoon in Charleston, North Carolina, the newlyweds are residing in Lexington.
