     Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Allie W. Burdick, whose wife, Lynn, is the daughter of Robert Adams of Cattaraügus, recently made a scheduled port visit to Faslane, Scotland during a routine scheduled deployment while assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Monterey, homeported in Norfolk, VA.

     Burdick and approximately 350 of his fellow shipmates had a chance to sightsee, shop and enjoy recreational activities, as well as participate in other cultural exchanges with the citizens of Faslane.

     USS Monterey is an Aegis-equipped uided-missile cruiser able to engage in offensive actions against the enemy through employment of long-range anti-shipping missiles, land attack missiles and naval gunfire.
