Specialist Brian C. Spencer, from Gowanda, entered the Army Reserves in 1999 and graduated from boot camp in Ft. Jackson, NC, in September 2000. He was activated in the Army in February 2003 and was stationed at Ft. Drum as a quarry specialist.      Specialist Spencer was deployed May 7, 2003 to Kuwait and belongs to the 770th Engineer Company, Penn Yan, New York.      He is the son of Daniel Olson of Franklinville and Alice Spencer of Gowanda, and husband of Julia (Smuda) Spencer.      He is also the grandson of the late Richard and Ruth Spencer of Springville.
