A Salute to Gowanda's veterans - Men and women from Gowanda have served their country in all conflicts since before Gowanda became a village in 1848. This photo gallery honoring Gowanda's war veterans spans a time period of more than 100 years. From left are: Edward McCutcheon (Civil War), John J. Skoczylas (World War I), Robert L. Mesches (World War II), Floyd C. Farley (Korea), and Gary A. Peters (Vietnam). The Gowanda Area Historical Society is collecting military photographs of all Gowanda-area veterans.
