Lacrosse Team, 1948 - The Newtown Athletic Club Box Lacrosse team played in an exhibition game at the American Legion Post 409 grounds during the Gowanda Centennial, an event that was attended by world-famous athlete Jim Thorpe. In the front row, from left, are Goody Stevens, Aaron Kettle, Floyd Cooper Jr., Kenny Bennett, Luman Jackson, Jake Isaac, Jim White, Buck Stevens and Wilber John. In back row, from left, are Jessie Pierce, Vernon Isaac, Carlton Bennett, Coach Tom Lay, Franklin Bennett, Harold Kettle, Barney Kettle and Milton Lay.
