Summer Jam, 1969 - “Midnight Express” competed in a “Battle of the Bands” at Gowanda State Hospital on July 27, 1969. Groups like this entertained at school dances, house parties and special events. Members of the band shown here were either students or graduates of Gowanda Central School. From left: Dave Charlesworth, Dennis Eiseline, Wayne Weimer, Gary Weimer, Dick Gunnell, Bill VanNote and Dennis VanNote. Other competing bands that day included “The Movement” and “Blueberry Time Bomb.” The Gowanda museum has pictures of these bands as well.
