Summer in the '60s
c. 1964

Summer in the '60s - a popular recreation spot for Gowanda-area baby-boomers is the Zoar Valley Campsites on West Becker Road. A real thrill is riding the slide with a watery splash at the end. A rite of passage is swimming through the deep water to reach a diving platform in the middle of the pond. Today the area is known as Pine Acres Campground.    Photo from the Robert Peggs Collection, Gowanda Area Historical Society.
