Cabco Ironworks - Undated photo
CABCO Ironworks Inc. - Shown is the foundry at the corner of Palmer Street and Townsend Avenue, one of Bill Foster's memories from his recollection two weeks ago in the Gowanda Penny Saver/News. According to the Gowanda Area Historical Society, David Pliss was the proprietor of CABCO Ironworks, Inc. Founders and Machinists. The Munger scrapbook notes the following, dated 1903: "Peter Rink and his brother-in-law, William Smith, are building a large building near the depot for an iron foundry. The lumber from Dayton Catholic Church is being used." (Photo courtesy of the Gowanda Area Historical Society.)
