Gowanda Hotel - c. 1950s Gowanda Hotel - The Gowanda Hotel is established by Philip Pericak following his purchase of the property on South Water Street in 1948. A favorite lunch site for local merchants and members of the business community throughout the 1950s, the hotel also provides banquet services for organizational wedding parties. Before television sets are common in Gowanda, the hotel has one to serve a steady evening clientele.
