Parade time - Youngsters ride their decorated bicycles in a parade in the village of Gowanda. Parade routes in the past always included marching over the Cattaraugus Creek bridge. In the background is the old iron bridge spanning the mighty Cattaraugus until its demise in 1962. Just as everyone in this photo is celebrating an event, Gowanda-area residents are gearing up to celebrate 50 years of Pioneer Days. This year the 50th anniversary Pioneer Days takes place May 15 to 18.     (Photo courtesy of the Robert Peggs Collection / Gowanda Area Historical Society.)
