| Peck's Livery/Boller Garage/Superior Motors, Inc./Marton's Hardware/Burger King - Superior Motors, Inc. is the next large business to occupy the old livery stable. Carrying the Chrysler and Plymouth lines, one advertisement from 1953 about a used car reads: "1951 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe 4-door sedan, 8-tube radio, Fluidmatic Drive, $650 down, $70.94 month." In 1956, the Gowanda Village Board approves the purchase of a new police car from Superior. The 1956 Plymouth 180-horsepower vehicle lists for $2,425.26. After trading in the 1954 Ford for $1,025.86, the net cost is $1,399.40. Superior Motors is in business until 1963. In 1982, Mike Marton, owner of Marton's Hardware, moves his business from the former Luce Hardware site (also on Jamestown Street) to the old Superior motors building. Unfortunately, a fire destroys Marton's Hardware in 1986 and the building is demolished. Burger King then brings fast food to Gowanda in 1989 and still occupies the entire corner today.
