Original Gowanda Fire Hall
Original Gowanda Fire Hall - The Crawford Hook and Ladder Company, named for former Mayor and hotelier Burt Crawford, is pictured before the the Main Street Fire Hall. Ground is broken in 1935 for the Municipal Building, which houses not only the fire department, but police department and village offices as well. To make room for the new brick building, the wood structure is moved back and now is known as the ambulance building.    (Photo courtesy of Gowanda Area Historical Society.)
