Roffe's Model Bakery - A new soda fountain is installed at Roffe's and adds to the well-established baked goods, ice cream and candy trade. An ad in the Carnival of Flowers souvenier booklet around that time states, "We believe that if burglars should enter our store they would get no farther than the fountain. The goodness of our soda would hold them there until daylight." One of the features of the new fountain is a hand-carbonating machine that provides "sanitariness" thanks to its water filtration capabilities. Next week, the final chapter...
