c. 1925 State Hospital Dam - Mule-drawn carts were used in construction of the Gowanda State Hospital dam, as seen in this photograph dated Aug. 13, 1925. The dam impounded the north branch of Clear Creek on Genesee Road in North Collins, creating the reservoir that today provides water for Collins Correctional Facility.     (Photo courtesy of the Gowanda Area Historical Society.)
