Helen S. (Sweda) Korbar, 86, of Gowanda, died Feb. 8, 2006 at Lake Shore Hospital, Irving.
     Mrs. Korbar managed the former Little Joe’s Restaurant in Gowanda from 1965 to 1975. She also worked for Gowanda Psychiatric Center and for a shor period during the war for the Chevrolet Axle Plant in Tonawanda. Mrs. Korbar was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Gowanda and loved playing cards, swimming and ice skating.
     She was the wife of Joseph A. Korbar; daughter of the late John and Victoria (Tomaszewski) Sweda; father of Joseph R. Korbar of Cattaraugus, Barbara J. Smith of Gowanda, and the late Brenda Edwards; and sister of Walter Sweda of Gowanda; also survived by nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s R.C. Church or Tri-County Memorial Hospital.
     Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., Gowanda.
