Gilbert “Gib” Nagle
October 10, 1927 - September 30, 2005

     Gilbert “Gib” DeLaine Nagle, 77, of Gowanda, died Sept. 30, 2005 at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving.
     Mr. Nagle was a lifelong resident of Gowanda. He served in the U.S. Navy and he owned and operated Nagle Electric for many years. Mr. Nagle was a member of Gowanda American Legion Post 409. For many decades, he was an active membe of the local Boy Scouts, serving as Scoutmaster for Troop No. 151 of Gowanda and later on the Troop Committee. He belonged to the Order of Arrow, earning Vigil Rank, and also received two of the highest ranks attainable as an adult, the Silver Beaver and the Three Bead Wood Badge.
     Mr. Nagle gave many years of service to the Village of Gowanda Recreation Department as a chaperone at Friday night roller-skating and skiing. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker and also loved to share his exotic animal farm with the community.
     He was the husband of Velma (Schruis) Nagle and the late Mary (Zinter) Nagle; son of the late Ralph C. and Sarah Margaret (Shaw) Nagle; father of Gary J. (Mary Anne) Nagle of Rochester, Cynthia (William) Sutherland of Gowanda, Nancy (Robert) Tuttle of Granville and Wendy Nagle of Gowanda; and brother of the late Robert Nagle; also survived by nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
     Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm and Carlton Sts., Buffalo, NY 14263.
     Arrangements were by the Schindler Funeral Home, Gowanda.
