Charles S. Allen (“Whitey”), 85, of Dayton, died July 26, 2005 at the Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Gowanda.
     Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Army during World War II, He worked as a fuel truck driver for Page Harms Oil Company of Eden and was a warehouse worker for Spartan Construction before he retired. Mr. Allen was a member of the Dayton Sportsmans Club.
     He was the husband of Ann (Skorupa) Allen; son of the late Montague and Lillian (Freeman) Allen; father of Douglas Allen of Dayton, Craig Allen of Dayton, Terry Allen of Virginia, Deborah Kinghorn of New Hampshire, Linda Poole of Barker, and the late David Allen; and brother of Helene Mercer of Minnesota, and the late Verna Turnwell, Montague, Harry, Reg and Donald Allen; also survived by three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., Gowanda.
