Richard E. Trank, 84, of North East, PA, formerly of Silver Creek, died July 21, 2005 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
Mr. Trank served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an officer’s cook on Mussolini’s farm in Italy. A longtime Silver Creek resident, he worked at Newbrook Machine Corporation in Silver Creek for 31 years, retiring six years ago at the age of 78. His skills were highly respected by his co-workers and superiors. Mr. Trank was often asked to create and consult on complex jobs for the company. With the help of his wife, he completed the electrical, plumbing and all the finish work on their 25-year home in Silver Creek.
His greatest love was serving the churches he attended through the years. Mr. Trank was instrumental in construction efforts at Bible Christian Fellowship, now known as the Chautauqua County Family Church in Fredonia and the Silver Creek Assembly of God.
He was the husband of Mary (Piazza) Trank; son of the late Floyd and Marion (Fairchild) Trank; father of Linda A. Miller of North East; and brother of the late Paul, Gordon and Betty; also survived by two grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, North East Community Nurses, North East Assembly of God or the Chautauqua County Family Church.
Arrangements were by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Silver Creek.
