Albert D. Stone of San Mateo, CA, formerly of South Dayton, died July 8, 2005 in Hospice Care at his home after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mr. Stone served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. That started him on a lifelong career as a mechanic with United Airlines, from which he retired to Kentucky in 1995.
Mr. Stone then returned to San Mateo to start cancer care last summer.
A very positive person, he was funny, deeply honest, outspoken and caring. He loved country life, travel and photography.
He was the husband of Linda (Fuson) Stone; father of Melissa Meurs, Randy Stone and Shawn Stone; and brother of William Stone, Charles Stone and Shirley Moses; also survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
