John C. Thomas, 71, of Gowanda, died Feb. 28, 2005 at Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Gowanda.
     Mr. Thomas served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, enlisting on June 22, 1953 in Buffalo and discharged on May 21, 1955 at Fort Bliss, TX. He worked for the Ford Stamping Plant, where he retired after 27 years. Mr. Thomas was a member of Local UAW 897 of Buffalo and enjoyed woodworking and building his home from “top to bottom.” He was also an avid reader.
     He was the husband of Betty J. (Jimerson) Thomas; son of the late Zelda V. (Heisler) and Charles A. Thomas; father of Wade M. (Nancy D.) Thomas of Waterford, CT, and Christopher J. Thomas of Merriam, KS; stepfather of Denise L. (Robert) Powless of Houston, TX, and the late Bruce C. Parker: brother of the late Virginia Neu; and brother-in-law of Victor Neu of North Collins; also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     Arrangements were by the Hills Funeral Chapel, Gowanda.
