Richard L. Waterman
February 11, 1931 - October 24, 2004

     Richard L. Waterman, 66, of Forestville, died Oct. 24, 2004 in Lake Shore Hospital, Irving, following a brief illness.
     Mr. Waterman was a graduate of Forestville Central School Class of 1957. He had owned and operated several grape and dairy farms at the former Forest Lanes of Forestville. Mr. Waterman was employed for 15 years by Underwater Gas Development in Port Colburn, Canada. He and his wife have owned Tavern on the Mall in Forestville for the past 18 years.
     He was a member of the Gowanda Loyal Order of the Moose 1382, the Dunkirk Bowling Association and Wednesday Nite Bud Light Bowling League in Forestville. He was also an exempt member of the Forestville Fire Department.
     Mr. Waterman enjoyed helping on his son’s dairy farm, playing games of chance, bowling and traveling.
     He was the husband of Frances (Howard) Waterman; son of the late Leigh and Jean (Downer) Waterman; father of Katharine L. (Thomas) Bixby, Janice L. Waterman Mayor of Forestville, Marci L. Waterman (Brian Pierce), and Daren E. Waterman (Shelly Coon) of South Dayton; and brother of Peg (Donald) Youngberg, James (Nancy), Dale and Neil G. (Martha) Waterman, all of Forestville, and John (Ellen) Waterman of Stafford, VA; also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Memorials may be made either to Hospice of Chautauqua County Inc., 4840 West Lake Rd., Mayville, NY 14757 or to the Forestville Fire Department Emergency & Rescue Squad, Chestnut Street, Forestville, NY 14062.
     Arrangements were by the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, Forestville.
