John C. Mesch, 79, of Collins, died Oct. 17, 2004 at the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville.
     Mr. Mesch served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a dairy farmer and was a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Collins for 33 years before retiring.
     He was a member of the St. Frances Cabrini R.C. Church in Collins Center and the Holy Name Society and a former member of the Collins Center Grange, Collins Center Cemetery Association and the Tri-County Square Dance Club of Sardinia.
     Emily (Froh) Mesch; father of Keith (Nadine) Mesch, Teri (Randy) Seufert, Connie (Kevin) Ploetz and Daryl (Kim) Mesch; and brother of Pearl (Frank) Semon, Harriet (Ed) Sheldon, Orrin Mesch and the late Wanda Darbee, June Parsell, Shirley Sharp and Emily Rudin; also survived by 12 grandchildren.
     Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
     Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., Gowanda.
