Martha M. Hall
     Martha (Fairchild) Hall, 74, of Dunkirk, died Sept. 20, 2004 at Millard Fillmore Hospital (Gates) in Buffalo.
     Mrs. Hall was a resident of Dunkirk since the 1980s. She formerly resided in Perrysburg, Colden, Buffalo, Denver and Cleveland. She was employed as a senior aide for the last decade for the Office for the Aging in Dunkirk, where she was delegated to work for Meals on Wheels and the United Way.
     A woman of indomitable spirit and optimism, she was a self-taught computer specialist, and also worked on fundraising and many other activities important in the social service community. She enjoyed crafts like sewing and knitting, and she even spun her own yarn.
     Mrs. Hall was a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan and especially enjoyed listening to radio broadcasts of Indians’ games via the Internet. She attended Western Reserve University in Cleveland and received her baccalaureate in English from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Fredonia.
     She was the wife of the late Warren Hall; daughter of the late Dennison (Jr.) and Marietta (Smith) Fairchild; mother of Dennis Atkinson of Tonawanda, James Atkinson of Sarasota, FL, Elliott Hall of Forestville, Jennifer Hall of Buffalo, Stewart Hall of Wellington, FL, Elizabeth Sheedy of Wellington and Janet Werner of Reston, VA; and sister of Edward Fairchild of Newark, DE, and the late Dennison Fairchild III; also survived by 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
     Arrangements were by the Hilliard-Creasey Funeral Home, Inc., Tonawanda.
