Charles Carl Volk, 102, of South Dayton, died Sept. 21, 2004 at the Lake Shore Nursing Home in Irving. Mr. Volk was a maintenance worker for Gowanda Central School and also worked at the South Dayton Canning Factory for 14 years. He also owned and operated a dairy farm in Cottage for many years. He was a charter member of the Cottage Grange 609 and Town of Dayton councilman for 30 years. Mr. Volk loved farming and making maple syrup. He was the husband of the late Myrtle I. Volk; son of the late Jacob and Anna (Holtz) Volk; father of Kenneth C. Volk of South Dayton; and brother of the late George Volk, Floyd Volk, Clara Milks and Bertha Ruckh; also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Hills Funeral Chapel, South Dayton. |
