Joseph A. Abramowski Jr., of Brocton, died Aug. 11, 2004. Mr. Abramowski retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Lackawanna. He had also worked for the Green Thumb DEC taking care of lawns and the lighthouse in Dunkirk. He was also a grape farm worker and had worked as a riveter at Curtiss Flight Airplane Factory in Kenmore. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in France and Germany and was in the Signal Corps. Mr. Abramowski belonged to the Acquavia Post in Dunkirk, the VFW in Silver Creek, the Silver Creek.Volunteer Firemen’s Association, Moose Lodge 1382 in Gowanda, the First Ward Falcon Club in Dunkirk and the Kosciuszko Polish Home Association in Dunkirk. He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Kolstad) Abramowski and the late Mary (Griffiths) Abramowski; son of the late Joseph and Clara (Sinicki) Abramowski; brother of Arthur (Ceil) Abramowski of Buffalo, Amalia Bernack of Hamburg, Grace (Loran) Smith of Gowanda, and the late Edwin, Raymond, Alfred and Daniel; and brother-in-law of Virginia Abramowski of Buffalo and Alice Abramowski of Cattaraugus; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice or Brocton Fire Department. Arrangements were by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Inc., Silver Creek. |
