Wentworth Blakely, Sr., 98, of Clarence, died July 11, 2004 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Amherst. Mr. Blakely was a graduate of Forestville schools and worked at the Chevrolet Delavan plant in the tool crib department until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Clarence United Methodist Church, active in the Clarence Grange and F&AM Masonic Lodge of Williamsville, and member of Odd Fellows Chapter 715 of Akron/Clarence. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Blakely; son of the late Duane and Martha (Hunter) Blakely; fatherofWentworth Blakely of Clarence, Arnold and Dale Blakely, both of Forestville, and Jean Rugg of Clarence; brother of the late Vernon, Harry, Earl and Robert Blakely, and Nirl Congdon; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Gateway Longview, 6350 Main St., Williamsville, NY 14221. Arrangements were by the Childs Funeral Home, Akron. |
