Ms. McCampbell was a retired chief of nurses for the U.S. Air Force, where she worked for 28 years. She served in the Air Force during the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts, having attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During her military career, she was stationed world wide. She received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Korean Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Chief Nurse Badge.
She was a member of the Church of Corinth in Cattaraugus, and a past member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Buffalo.
She was the daughter of the late Reginald and Maude (Augustine) Golden; sister of Richard (Carol) Golden of Lakeside, AZ, Christine (Clifford) Waugh of Cattaraugus and the late John Golden; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
