Norma Drew Bells, 92, of Irving, formerly of Fredonia, died April 28, 2004 at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving. A Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County resident since 1923, Mrs. Betts attended school in Westfield and Randolph. She was employed at Aldrich’s Dairy in Fredonia and also assisted her husband with the daily operation of the family dairy farm on Cassadaga Road. Following retirement, they spent winters in Pompano Beach, FL. She enjoyed knitting - making numerous items for her family, flower gardening and flowers, and traveling. She was the wife of the late William E. Betts; daughter of the late Herman and Winifred (Butler) Drew; mother of Marcella Leach of Pompano Beach, Althea (LeRoy) Wilcox of Irving, Elaine Vaccaro of Fort Lauderdale, FL, William H. (Janet) Betts of Cassadaga, and the late Kenneth C. Betts; and sister of the late Olive Sottile; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and seven step-great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. |
