A graduate of the Fredonia Normal School where she received her bachelor’s degree, Miss Gaude earned a master’s degree in education from Fredonia State University College. She also completed undergraduate work at the National College of Education of Illinois, Niagara University and Buffalo State.
She was a teacher in the North Collins School System and a member of the Teachers Association. A former member of the AAUW, Monday Evening Literary Club of Gowanda, Shakespeare Club and the Rosary-Altar Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, she at one time had been a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
She was the daughter of the late William and Helen (O’Connor) Gaude; sister of the late William Burton Gaude; and aunt of William Gaude of Athens, TN, and Susan Martelli of Tallahassee, FL; also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews and several cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Silver Creek.
