Mr. Franze served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Moench Tanning Company, formerly in Gowanda.
He was the husband of Frances (Lubke) Franze; son of the late Lester and Georgia (Widrig) Franze; father of Patricia A. (James) Lavelle and Roger B. Franze, both of Tucson, AZ; and brother of Leo Franze of New York; also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by five brothers.
