Robert C. Kendall Jr., 78, of Gowanda, died March 27, 2004. A crane operator for the Ford plant in Woodlawn, Mr. Kendall retired in 1987 after 37 years of service. After retirement, he drove for Carrier Coach in Gowanda. He served his country in the United States Navy in World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 409 and the VFW Post 5007, both of Gowanda. He was the husband of Irene J. (Lux) Kendall; son of the late Robert and Lena (Ploetz) Kendall; father of Robert C. Kendall III of Buffalo, Clarence W. “Bill” Kendall of West Valley, Darlene (Kenneth) Bridges of Perry, Cheryl Kendall of Gowanda, and the late Lorraine Kendall; brother of Stanley “Bud” Kendall of Chaffee, and the late Harold Kendall and Iola Phinney; half-brother of James Kendall of Buffalo, Arthur Kendall of Palasade, CO, Charles Kendall of Yorkshire, Mary (Victor) Bly of Springville, Florence Campbell of Delevan, Marie (James) Keesler of Machias, Bernice (Millard) Keller of Holland, Carol (Everett) Halbreich of Spring Valley, CA, and the late Gladys Kendall; also survived by 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He and his wife also raised two of their grandchildren, Brian C. Kendall of Albany and William S. “Will” Kendall of Gowanda, after the death of their daughter, Lorraine Kendall, who died in 1985. Memorials may be made to the WNY Cancer Society. Arrangements were by the Schindler Funeral Home, Gowanda. |
