John W. Herman, 63, of Perrysburg, died March 6, 2004 after a brief illness. Mr. Herman served in the U.S. Coast Guard during 1963 and participated in the active reserves for 20 years after. He retired from the J.N. Adam Developmental Center in Perrysburg after being a recreation therapist for 32 years. He was a member of the Perrysburg Fire Department, American Legion Post 409 of Gowanda and the New York State Retirement Employee Program. He also volunteered his time as a Little League baseball and football coach. His hobbies included golfing and bowling. He was the husband of Patricia (Hall) Herman; son of Dorothy (Fiden) Herman of Perrysburg and the late John J. Herman; father of John (Lisa) Herman of Williamsville, Karen (Thomas) Laudico of Valrico, FL, and Joseph (Nicole) Herman of Gowanda; and brother of the late Kathleen Herman; also survived by four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Perrysburg Fire Company or the Gowanda Ambulance Service. Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., Gowanda. |
