A graduate of Forestville Central School and Fredonia Normal, Mrs. Courtright taught in several one-room schoolhouses throughout the area. She retired from Miller and Waterhouse Insurance Agency in Silver Creek.
Mrs. Courtright was an avid traveler, having visited each of the 50 states. She resided in Clearwater, FL for many years, returning to the area in 1999.
She was the wife of the late Newton Courtright; daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Lillie) Lucas; brother of the late Clifford S. Lucas; and aunt of Ronald Lucas of Silver Creek, Kenneth Lucas of Fredonia, and Barbara Duff of Forestville.
