Marie Colburn
     Marie (Armitage) Colburn, 91, of Gowanda, died Feb. 6, 2004 at the TLC Health Network, Gowanda.
     An attendant, Mrs. Colburn worked for the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, retiring in 1967. Memberships included the Wesley United Methodist Church, the National Grange, the D.A.R. and DA.C. She also belonged to the National Campers and Hikers Association and did extensive traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Past memberships include the Rebekkah Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Colburn was past Town of Dayton historian. She enjoyed family history and poetry and was the author of three genealogical books.
     She was the wife of the late Curtis C. (Bill) Colburn; daughter of the late Lawrence and Sarah (Cobb) Armitage; mother of Dorothy (Wesley) Allen of Gowanda, and the late James Colburn; and sister of the late Helen Armitage, Florence Warren and Doris Gimbrone; also survived by nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
     Memorials may be made to the Buffalo City Mission or to the Gowanda Ambulance Service.
     Arrangements were by the Schindler Funeral Home, Gowanda.
