She grew up in Gowanda and graduated from Gowanda High School. Mrs. Rooney was an active member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, where she enjoyed the seniors' group and sacristy duties. She was an avid and accomplished bridge player.
She was the wife of the late Herbert Rooney; and mother of Barbara (Everett) Quigley, Douglas (Marilyn) Rooney, Timothy (Angela) Rooney, Margaret (David) James, and Wendy (Daniel) Beadle; also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Monsignor Allen Trust Fund, 1003 North Tyler Street, Little Rock.
