Marie R. Barone, 83, a resident of the Lake Shore Nursing Home in Irving, formerly of Silver Creek, died Jan. 4, 2004 in Lake Shore Hospital, Irving. A lifelong resident of Silver Creek, Miss Barone had been employed as an inspector for Remtronics of Silver Creek for many years. She had also worked at the Van Raalte Co. in Silver Creek and was a licensed beautician. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, where she served as the former representative of Region 22. Miss Barone was also a member of the parish's Altar and Rosary Society and belonged to the National Council of Catholic Women, the Ladies of Charity and the VFW Auxiliary in Silver Creek, where she held different positions including county offices. She formerly belonged to the Women of the Moose Auxiliary in Dunkirk. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Catherine (Lancione) Barone; sister of Frances Taravella of Silver Creek, Anna Kranichfelt of Buffalo, Julia Schley of Kenmore, Briana Carrick of Madison, OH, Paul Barone of Tonawanda, and the late Anthony and George Barone, Clara and Victoria; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements were by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel Inc., Silver Creek. |
