Mrs. Young graduated from Forestville High School with the Class of 1938.
From 1966 to 1989, she and her husband owned and operated the former Wilcox Hotel in Forestville.
She was a member of the Pioneer Social Club of Forestville and a former member of AARP in Dunkirk and the Pine Valley Veterans Association VFW Post 2522 Ladies Auxiliary in Cherry Creek.
She was the wife of the late John M. Young; daughter of the late John and Rose (Hubbard) Wilcox; stepmother of James Young of Forestville, John M. Young Jr. of Erie, PA, and Jeri (John) Wiedenhofer of Fredonia; and sister of the late Millard M. Wilcox, Charles W. Wilcox, Maude Peterson, Blossom George and Grace Richter; also survived by several nieces and nephews and one step-nephew.
Memorials may be made to the Forestville Fire Department Emergency and Rescue Squad, Chestnut Street; Forestville, or the American Heart Association.
