Mary Jane Shaw
     Mary Jane (Farley) Shaw, 84, of Gowanda, died Dec. 30, 2003.
     A World War II veteran, Mrs. Shaw was a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, where she served as a registered nurse. She then was employed at the Townsend Hospital in Gowanda and the J.N. Adam Developmental Center, before retiring from the Gowanda Psychiatric Center.
     Mrs. Shaw had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Home Bureau and American Legion Post 409, all of Gowanda.
     She was the wife of the late Johnny F. Shaw Sr.; daughter of the late George and Lucile (Mustard) Farley; mother of Johnny F. (Jackie) Shaw Jr. of Springville, George (Marie) Shaw of Liberty, TX, Theresa Shaw (Dale Huber) of Hamburg, Peggy, (Donald Jr.) Butcher of Perrysburg, and the late Robert Johnston; and sister of Marjorie Zoeller of Angola, Myrtle Krajewski and Joyce Smith, both of Gowanda, and the late Robert, James, John and Jack Farley; also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
     Memorials may be made to the Gowanda Ambulance or Comstock Hospice of WNY.
     Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., Gowanda.
