Mrs. Tower attended Bennett High School and graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1938. She taught social studies in Wilson Central School for two years. In her earlier years, she prdvided music for the Sunday school and the church summer school at the First Presbyterian Church of Gowanda. When her daughters entered high school, she returned to teaching English and social studies in Gowanda Central School.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gowanda and a member of the New York State Teachers' Association.
She was also a life member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, and a former member of Arcana Chapter O.E.S. and Pilgrim Circle.
She was the wife of Douglas B. Tower; and mother of Judith Ann (John) Hellriegel of Atlanta, GA, and Barbara Jane (John) Meader of Holland; also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
