Joseph F. Catalano
     Joseph F. ("Smokey," "Sunshine") Catalano, 88, of North Collins, died Oct. 25, 2003 in Lake Shore Hospital, Irving.
     A man of many occupations and interests, Catalano was born on the family farm in North Collins. Through the years, he worked as a bus driver, mail carrier and cross-country truck driver.
     Mr. Catalano served in the Navy aboard the USS Ellis during World War II. He was an exempt member of the North Collins Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was the oldest member of North Collins Post 1640 American Legion.
     He was the husband of Katharine (Fricano) Catalano; father of Sharon Loretto and Deborah Lomanto, both of North Collins; and brother of Frances Muscato-Davis of Amherst and Charles Catalano of Gowanda; also survived by three grandchildren.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the North Collins Emergency Squad.
     Arrangements were by the Wentland Funeral Home, North Collins.
