Gurney O. Goran Jr., 78, of Collins Center, died Oct. 20, 2003 at Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Gowanda. Mr. Goran served in the U.S. Air Force with the Air Transport Command in Africa during World War II. He was an operating engineer for Local 17 and worked for Burwin Construction and Gernatt Gravel of Collins. He also had been a driver for Rural Transit. A longtime councilman for the Town of Collins, Mr. Goran was a member of Phoenix Lodge F&AM No. 262 and VFW Post 5007, both of Gowanda. He was the husband of June (Kelley) Goran; son of the late Gurney Sr. and Alice (Cook) Goran; father of Jackie McLean of Collins, Paula Goran of Eden, Jerry Goran of Ohio and Pat Goran of Georgia; and brother of Janet Pecnik of Gowanda and the late Wilford Goran; also survived by six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., Gowanda. |
