Paul Peters
     Paul Lewis "Bucky" Peters, 73, of Anchorage, AK, formerly of Jamestown and Cherry Creek, died Sept.10, 2003 at Providence Extended Care Center after a long battle with cancer.
     Mr. Peters graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1948. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1948 to 1952 in Germany and England.
     He retired from Martin Rockwell Corp. in Jamestown in 1968 and moved to Alaska, where he homesteaded in Christochina. He was employed by Bryce Construction, Alaska General in the North Slope and Aleutian/Pribilof Islands (Operating Engineers Local 302) from 1973 until his retirement in 1991.
     Mr. Peters was a member of the Cherry Creek Masonic Lodge 384 and the South Dayton American Legion 1593. He was a past Patron of the Order of Eastern Stars - Golden Chapter. He was an avid sports fan.
     He was the husband of Clara "Billie" Lewis Peters; son of the late Henry Peters and Bertha Abbey; father of Michael Peters of Anchorage, and the late Melissa Ann Peters; and brother of Harold Peters of Mayville, Norma Traw of Christochina, and the late Donald Peters and Virginia (Shanahan) Schmidt, also survived by two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Melissa Ann Peters, R.N. Memorial Award, 221 Chandalar Drive, Anchorage, AK 99504, or to Anchorage Senior Center Endowment Trust at 1300 E. 19th Ave., Anchorage AK, 99501.
     Arrangements were by the Anchorage Funeral Home and Crematory.
