Wesley Matteson
     Wesley L. Matteson, 67, of Fredonia, died Aug. 27, 2003 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
     Mr. Matteson was a Korean Conflict veteran, a long-distance truck driver and owner/operator of a 41-acre grape farm. He also participated in stock car racing at Arkwright and Busti speedways.
     He was a member of Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church and volunteer for the Office of the Aging and named "Volunteer of the Month."
     He was the husband of G. Mary (Ruhfel) Matteson; son of the late Albert and Mildred (Stafford) Matteson; father of Thomas (Susan) Matteson of Jeanerett, LA; Kevin (Lisa) Matteson of Fredonia, William (Shannon) Matteson of Dunkirk, Michael Matteson of Tampa, FL; SFC Eric (Tippy) Matteson of Hanau, Germany (deployed to Iraq); and Mark (Dawnielle) Matteson of East Amherst and the late Brian Matteson; brother of Berdena (Gerald) Merrill of Arcadia, FL; and Joyce Bryant of Norwich, CT and the late Leland, Rolland "Gene" and Lloyd Matteson; also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
