Floyd "Obie" Brumfield, 88, of South Dayton, died July 31, 2003 at the Lake Shore Hospital in Irving. Mr. Brumfield retired as a mechanic and bus driver for the Gowanda Central School. A 50-year member of the Perrysburg Fire Department, he also belonged to the Cottage Methodist Church and Dayton Historical Society. He was the husband of Viola (Dawley) Brumfield, and the late Nellie (Dawley) Brumfield; son of the late Obediah and Laura (Dalton) Brumfield; father of Donna (Harold) Byroads of Dayton, Meredith (Al) Lebel of Maryland, Susan "Boats" Johnson of Tampa, FL, and Duane Bond of Georgia; and brother of William Brumfield of Gowanda, and the late Pearl, Cora, Mary, Roy, Oza, Norman and Lionel Brumfield; also survived by 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughers and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Perrysburg Fire Department or the Cottage Methodist Church. Arrangements were by the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., Gowanda. |
