Traffic tie-up - A steady stream of traffic can be seen down the length of Buffalo Street in Gowanda in April 1997 as New York State Thruway traffic is rerouted through the village. Because of a tax dispute between the state and the Seneca Nation of Indians, motorists from dozens of states and provinces in Canada take a scenic, but time consuming, journey through the rural countryside New name - Rob Lederman, of Buffalo radio station 97 Rock, calls DJ Larry Norton at the station to say he has arrived in the temporary town of Van Pelt, formerly known as Collins. The spoof is a result of the Buffalo Bills starting quarterback change from Todd Collins to Alex Van Pelt.
