Practice makes perfect - In this undated photo, the Gowanda Fire Department takes part in a fire drill at J.N. Adam Hospital in Perrysburg. In 1968, as in years past, Gowanda plays host to the Southwestern Firemen's Convention in August. Aside from the grand parade and"grotesque" parade, fire-fighting demonstrations, first-aid contests, street dance, banquet, and fish fry are on tap for convention-goers.
